On the first anniversary of our dearest Rick Thompson's passing into glory (9/9/2025), our Thompson family invites you into a space of reflection and memorial. We gathered some of our favorite videos and pics from our September 2025 graveside service and David’s eulogy along with others that remind us of Rick/Dad’s beautiful life of service to our Lord Jesus Christ, our family, and others.

Our hearts are full of eternal hope, knowing that his passing was quick and our family was by his side every moment from when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on August 30, 2025 to his passing on Sept 9th at 10:10 pm.

With love and gratitude for your prayers,

Jan, Tiffany, Derick, & David and Thompson Family

A word of memorial from David Thompson and a musical offering from Tiffany Thompson.

John 10:10

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

As Rick Thompson said: The Gospel in a word is not love it is Jesus.

Jesus so loved my father that he gave him all of us, each of you here and your journey with him meant Everything! Jesus and Rick they walked closely together for 50 years! Rick was a friend of God of Jesus!

Throughout these years my wonderful mother Jan walked faithfully beside Rick! They loved each other and stood by each other till the end of the journey for Rick when he breathed his last breath on 9/9 at 10:10pm.

Rick loved Hope Evangelical Free Church, Moscow Bible Church, the Texas and Great Lakes District churches and the 10,000’s who studied Scripture with him! And the 1,000 pastors he mentored and coached, the young eagles as he called them. Rick wrote multiple books, which we can all go read and hear his voice that will speak to us afresh!

And while his passing was so sudden and unexpected: Rick had that Life and life abundantly because he choose to walk on the Way, The Truth and the Life of Jesus! His Lord And Savior! As a boy I used to sit on the steps and listen to Rick preach with all his heart the sermon for our church later that day! I don’t know if he always realized I was there but it was so authentic and genuine and his love for the congregation and Jesus was so Real that it left a lasting conviction in me that there is nothing worth spending our lives for other than the Scriptures and the great culmination of it all the Gospel of Jesus Christ infused into the lives of those around us!

Dad we love you! We love how you lived for Christ and eternity! You lived out John 10:10 and John 14:6 in such a way that many many more choose to join you on that journey and I am certain you heard on Tuesday night these words: Well Done My Good and faithful Servant come join in the Kingdom prepared for you!
